East Aurora

East Aurora is a village located in the Town of Aurora in Erie County. The 2010 population was estimated at 6,236. This quaint, quiet town is best known as being the home to famous toy manufacturer, Fisher-Price. Another town mainstay is Vidlers 5 & 10.  This is an old-fashioned five and dime store that occupies 4 connected 19th Century buildings.

Founded in 1804, incorporated in 1874, the Village has continued to keep to its roots and maintain its small- town feel. The residents have great pride in their small-town atmosphere, and in 1999 stood up to WalMart to oppose the opening of a store in East Aurora. They were successful in their efforts and the store did not get approved.
